Overview
Bobby, a seventeen-year-old boy from the Midwest, aspires to join the military and secure a career for himself in social work. Bart, his red-neck, unemployed father, discourages his son from bettering his life. The dad would rather his son follow is footsteps of failure. Rosie, Bobby’s otherwise dim-witted mother, stands in the gap for her son, offering him the encouragement that his father cannot offer.
