A young black teenager skips school and takes his mother’s car on a mid-day joyride with several of his friends that ends in a head-on collision with a wealthy town socialite. Despite having no prior arrests or previous real trouble, the white woman he hits demands a full trial. The play is the pre-trial conversation of a black mother with a white woman to find out why.
