Stephanie Sugioka is a retired English professor with masters’ degrees in creative writing and Chinese literature and a Ph.D. in education. Although she has published a number of poems in literary magazines such as Calyx,
The Sow’s Ear, and The Beloit Poetry Journal, this is her first book-length project. Her father was Japanese American and her mother Anglo-European American; the multicultural nature of her experience has deeply influenced her writing. Originally from Chapel Hill, NC, she now lives in Norfolk, VA.
